Hi, Friends.
February is one of my favorite months - not because it's cold here in Baltimore, and we can play guitar around a cozy fire, but because it holds my favorite holiday: Valentine's Day. I think it's always important to let the people you love know you love them, and Valentine's Day encourages us to shout it from the rooftops.
Speaking of love, when Mikel and I had our 'adult' rock band, Love Riot, most of our songs were about romantic love - attraction, relationships, breaking up and making up - because before having kids, that's pretty much the focus of love. Now that we each have a child and are immersed in making music for children, the songs we write are quite different in nature. But we feel they are love songs just the same.
Last month we stopped by the XM Satellite studio and recorded a performance for XM KIDS' Rumpus Room concert series. It was a blast having a live audience packed into the studio, and we had a great time. Kenny and Mindy of XM KIDS joined in the fun-Kenny even wore a tutu we brought along. All of us in Milkshake send you a big hug, and hope you pass the hug on to someone you love. Maybe break into your favorite love song, and dance together. Eat lots of chocolate, and recount all the ways and reasons.
